It's February, and you won't get a tan from standing in the English rain. Here's a few of our favourite relaxing winter sun suggestions.
Most of Thailand is basking in beautiful sunshine in February and it's high season almost everywhere. You can expect days full of sunshine, high temperatures and calm seas.
Consider Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, Koh Lanta or Koh Phangan as amongst the best destinations to holiday in Thailand in February.
The climate should also be ideal in Bangkok and the north of Thailand at this time of year if you want to add on some touring.
February is Carnaval in Brazil making it the perfect time of year to consider visiting Brazil at its most colourful and lively.
Rio's Sambadrome of course is the most popular place for Carnaval. The North East of Brazil is also a spectacular place to visit during Carnaval however. Head to Salvador, the capital of Bahia state for some of Brazil's most colourful and loudest celebrations before heading to a boutique hotel on one of Bahia's beautiful beaches.
Bear in mind that rains are beginning to fall in the Amazon and Pantanal, so making a visit for Carnaval might also be combined with neighbouring Argentina.
February is a great time to consider a beach holiday to Zanzibar. The weather should be great in Zanzibar at this time of year and it's a particularly good alternative to the Maldives which can be very expensive in comparison.
Zanzibar offers the chance to combine beach with safari. On the mainland, the Serengeti sees the height of the calving season, making February a very good month for a Tanzania safari to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti with a beach holiday to Zanzibar.
February is the dry season in Belize and you should enjoy warm, dry and sunny days, with cooler, refreshing nights. The trade winds at this time of year keep things quite fresh and not too humid.

February is high season, so prices are high and it pays to book in advance when deals can still be had. For a city and beach break combine with Dubai or even Singapore.
The winter months are a great time for visiting South Africa's Western Cape. Cape Town and the Western Cape should be enjoying beautiful clear days with plenty of sunshine and warm weather.
Bear in mind however that the Kruger and Kwa-Zulu Natal arelikely to experience some rain at this time of year.
