Magnificent trees and an abundant bird life surround Jock Safari Lodge which is set in 6000 hectares of the first private concession within the world renowned Kruger National Park.

Jock Safari Lodge offers a wilderness experience unchanged from the early days of the gold rush. Set in an area noted for its diversity in game, particularly the ‘Big 5’, Jock Safari Lodge incorporates the romance and elegance of colonial times and the unique style of the Zulu and Shangaan cultures.

The main lodge offer luxurious suites with private plunge pools and salas overlooking the river, whilst peaceful ‘Little Jock’ features 3 Suites, offering privacy, intimacy and a dedicated chef, waitress and ranger.

What’s so Special?

Jock Safari Lodge offers walking safaris to discover some of the oldest bushmen rock art in Africa and with only 6 guests per vehicle on game drives, you can expect a very personal level of service.

Jock Safari Lodge has been built to the most stringent eco-management criteria in South Africa. Off road driving on the concession is not permitted at any time as the damage to the veld takes up to 2 years to repair.

We love Jock's claw foot baths and outdoor showers.

Main Jock

The twelve individual thatched suites at the Main Jock camp are screened by lush trees and reed walls and overlook the rivers, with views of the bush and game.

All the suites are named after places of interest in the tale of “Jock of the Bushveld” - the treacherous Pettigrew’s Road, the trading posts of Delagoa Bay and Komatipoort.

Each suite has its own personal “sala” (thatched viewing deck), plunge pool, romantic Victorian ball and claw bath, his and her vanities and outdoor shower.

Little Jock

With only 3 suites, Little Jock offers an extremely personal service. Each one features a private viewing deck overlooking the Kruger bushveld, indoor or outdoor showers and a dining and entertainment area which offers the unique opportunity to experience the gracious style of old world elegance surrounded by unspoilt wilderness.

The cuisine at Jock Safari Lodge is an integral part of a stay here. Meals are served in a variety of locations - from fine dining in or outdoors to a gourmet adventure in the Lapa under the canopy of African night skies.

Climbing wooden stairs that wind through a 400 year old Jackalberry tree, leads on to the upstairs bar area with comfortable couches and a viewing deck overlooking the rock pool and Biyamiti River.
