Makanyane is a luxury safari camp in Madikwe Game Reserve, set on a private area with just 8 suites, creating a very intimate atmosphere.
The luxurious suites are secluded, intimate and romantic, the ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Bedrooms have wrap-around glass walls with views out into the forest and over the Marico River.
The lodge is unfenced, so game is able to wander freely through the grounds, allowing excellent game viewing from the comfort of the suites.
Makanyane’s open-fronted lounge with its private sundeck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush.
The call of the fish eagle echoes down the river as elephants, escaping the heat of the day, plunge into the deep water and disturb the sleeping hippo.
Lion, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo and leopard are all here in abundance, as well as cheetah, giraffe and both spotted and brown hyena.
Madikwe is also one of the best places in Southern Africa to watch the elusive and rare wild dog, a fascinating species on the brink of extinction.
