Thakadu River Camp
Located amidst lush riverside foliage, Thakadu River Camp offers exceptional value in Madikwe and a great base from which to explore this game-rich area.
Thakadu River Camp has just 12 tented-suites, each with a natural Afro-Asian influence.
Tents have full bathrooms and sliding doors that open onto a private deck overlooking the river.
The main camp at Thakadu River Camp is located between the Marico River and a small tributary.
The Lodge comprises of open-plan lounge, dining and reception areas and very pleasant bar and pool area.
What’s so Special?
Thakadu is a community owned and run safari camp in Madikwe and as such is unique in South Africa.
The use of traditional artifacts and the rustic decor, together with the riverside setting create a very rustic and African feel to the lodge.
Bear in Mind
Thakadu River Camp has four tented-suites families where a Queen-size sleeper couch is available for children.
Children under 6 aren’t permitted on Game Drives, although there is a special game drive available for children after breakfast, which parents can accompany.
