Buitenverwachting Restaurant is consistently rated amongst the top ten restaurants in the country. The fare ranges from exotic Continental dishes to traditional South African flavours.

The menu changes daily as all ingredients are fresh and brought in from far and wide. This includes prawns from Mozambique, French cheese and venison from Namibia.

The Constantia Uitsig restaurant is housed in the original Manor House and offers widely varied Mediterranean cuisine.

Nestled under gigantic palms and oak trees, La Colombe Restaurant portrays a rustic charm and offers French Provencal cuisine.

The Cape Malay Restaurant at Cellars Hohenort offers cuisine unique to the Western Cape.

Originally cape malay cuisine was a product of the early Indian and Malay settlers in the Cape, but has since been adapted by the creative indigenous cooks of this area.

Nowadays the cuisine is now noted for it’s mild spices and gentle aromatic character.

Wine Tasting

Wine tasting in the Cape is a splendid way of exploring the region and sampling some of the excellent wines at the numerous award-winning Wine Estates.

We can include a wine tasting tour, allowing you to relax and enjoy being driven between wine estates.

Alternatively, there are many self-drive maps available allowing you to explore the region on your own steam.

Most wine farms offer tastings, where you can purchase their particular wines.

The Constantia Wine Route is the oldest wine route in the country, and although there are only a few wineries, it offers some superb wines.

There are other numerous well established wine routes starting just 20 minutes outside of Cape Town meandering through the quaint villages of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl and a bit further afield to the North, the area of Swartland also produces excellent wines.

Many of the wine farms also offer cellar tours which takes you through the process of making wine, from planting the vineyards to bottling.

Most estates also have excellent restaurants or offer pre-packed picnics for you to enjoy in the immaculate gardens amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
