Day 1: Fly from the UK to Johannesburg
Overnight flight from the UK to Johannesburg.
Day 2: Johannesburg
On arrival transfer to your hotel in Johannesburg for overnight.
Overnight Johannesburg.
Day 3: Johannesburg - Pemba
Transfer to the airport and fly to Pemba, with a road transfer to Mucojo (about 3 hours) and a dhow transfer to Mogundula Island.
Mogundula Island offers excellent bird watching, pristine swimming off the sandbank beach and superb snorkeling.
The mobile camp is set under the shade of trees and you usually have this magical uninhabited island to yourself!
Enjoy a trip by dhow to the Pangane Peninsula or similar and/or Macaloe Island from the camp.
Overnight mobile camp Mogundula Island. All meals included.
Day 4: Dhow Safari – Mogundula Island to Ulumbwa
Depart Mogundula for your exploration into the Quirimbas Archipelago.
Sail into the clearest of blue water with pristine corals below to explore under snorkel.
The Ulumbwa river mouth beckons and it’s here where fascinating rural fishing villages dot the shore.
Overnight mobile camp Quirimbas Archipelago. All meals included.
Day 5: Day trip to Matemo Island:
Turquoise clear waters and beautiful scenery awaits you en-route, but before enjoy an early morning sail up the Ulumbwa estuary viewing a variety of birds & mangroves that thrive in this area.
In the afternoon, take a tour through this fishing village. Stop on the southern tip of Matemo Island and explore this part of the island and return to the camp at Ulumbwa.

Day 6: Ulumbwa to Ibo Island
Probably the most compelling attraction in the Quirimbas, Ibo’s 200-year-old ghost town and 16th Century forts make for a fascinating journey to an era long forgotten.
Ibo Island lodge has spectacular views over the waterfront and accommodates guests in beautifully simple yet elegant rooms.
Historic colonial mansions have been stylishly renovated to accommodate the lodge with various verandas, tropical gardens and a spectacular roof top restaurant.
The emphasis at Ibo Island Lodge is on complete relaxation and a base from which to explore this fascinating island.

Dhow Safari Experience
The Mozambique dhow safari holidays are fully guided mobile island hopping safaris based on set scheduled departures.
Private dhow trips are also available for. The dhow safari is a superb way to discover some of the most beautiful islands in Mozambique by island hopping along the Quirimbas Archipelago.
Combine sea kayaking and dhow sailing and enjoy snorkelling over untouched corals.
The dhow is a 12 metre dhow with a professional guide and crew.
Accommodation on safari is in eco mobile camps on islands and beaches, with meals based on fresh seafood and island cuisine.

Ibo Island Lodge
Ibo Island Lodge offers luxurious accommodation and features three magnificently refurbished colonial-era mansions with high lofty ceilings and individually designed bedrooms.
The main building at Ibo features spacious verandahs, which are a lovely spot to enjoy a drink or just relax at any time of the day on a lounger with a book or magazine.
The gardens are a very nice feature at Ibo, as is the long infinity edged swimming pool over-looking the ocean.
