Journey across the Far East from Hong Kong to Shanghai via Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and China on this fascinating voyage across the 'Divine Dynasties'.
We begin with a couple of nights in Hong Kong for you to explore this former British colony set by it's magnificent harbour.
From Hong Kong cruise the straits of Taiwan to set foot on the island of Taiwan, with the chance to see the exciting city of Taipei.
From Taiwan sail on to Japan and the island of Okinawa with its unique culture, before cruising to Kobe and Hiroshima. In port in Kobe for 2 days offers sufficient time to see the best of nearby Kyoto, the highlight of any trip to Japan.
The are two stops in South Korea, at the pleasant port city of Busan and at the lively capital of Seoul with its magnificent palaces.
From South Korea head to China with stops at Dalian and Beijing where there will be the chance to visit the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
The ocean journey ends in Shanghai where we have included a couple of nights for you to explore this vibrant bustling city.

Day 1: Depart the UK

Day 2: Hong Kong
On arrival in Hong Kong you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure.

Arrive in the port of Keelung for Taipei.
Highlights of Taipei include the Taipei Tower, the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, the fabulous Palace Museum's with its vast collection of Chinese art and the lovely Lungshan Temple. Alternatively explore lovely Keelung's historic sites and Yeliu Park's astonishing rock formations.

Day 7: Okinawa, Japan
Explore this beautiful island and visit imposing Shuri Castle, home of the Ryukyu royal family for 400 years. Enjoy the scenic countryside, the WWII memorials, the magnificent limestone caves and a reconstructed Ryukyu village where the island's heritage and crafts are on display.

Day 9: Kobe - Kyoto, Japan
The ship docks at the port of Kobe from where it is a short journey to Japan's cultural capital - Kyoto.
Visit the breathtaking temples and shrines of Japan's old imperial capital, Kyoto, or explore ancient Nara, the cradle of Japanese arts, literature and crafts, with its magnificent shrines and temples that predate Kyoto's.
Stroll through Nara Park, famed for its deer and impressive Kasuga Grand Shrine. Then travel on to Osaka and its famed castle. In Kobe, visit historic Himeji Castle, a huge edifice built entirely of wood and tile.

Day 10: Kobe - Kyoto, Japan
Enjoy a further day to discover this region of Japan.

Day 11: Hiroshima, Japan
Visit the skeletal A-Bomb Dome, the Peace Memorial Park and Museum and the statue dedicated to the children who died after the atomic bomb was dropped on this city in 1945.
Stroll through beautifully landscaped Hiroshima Gardens, visit the rebuilt Hiroshima Castle or journey to the exquisite sacred island of Miyajima and see the extraordinary Itsukushima Shrine.

Day 12: Busan, South Korea
From trendy cafes and famous fish markets to sacred temples and traditional tea ceremonies, Busan, the second largest city in South Korea is bursting with flavours and culture.
Take a walk in the relaxing Yongdusan Park while admiring the various species of trees and a view of the Busan Tower.
At the Hongbeopsa farming temple, explore the renowned large Buddha statues at the Main Buddha Hall while walking along a water lily path, or experience a traditional Korean tea ceremony conducted by one of their monks.

Day 14: Seoul, South Korea
Travel to Seoul and discover its 5,000-year-old heritage amidst the ultra-modern high-rises. Visit the magnificent 14th century Gyeongbok Palace and stone pagoda, the National Museum and the bustling antique district.
Alternatively spend a day in the serene atmosphere of a Zen Buddhist temple and a historic Korean village. Tour the DMZ and rediscover the drama of recent history or simply wander the fish market and promenade at Incheon.

Day 15: Dalian, China
Head to Tiger Beach, Jinshitan Beach or Fujiazhuang Beach, some of the best in China, and then stroll through Xinghai Square, built in 1998 to honour the city’s centennial.
Visit the Lushun Museum and see its extensive collection of mummies, take a scenic drive on Binhai Road, watch a dolphin show at the aquarium or enjoy the spectacular view from Haizhiyun Park.

Day 16: Beijing, China
Travel to Beijing and stroll through the amazing Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven, where the emperor annually celebrated the harvest, and walk on the centuries-old Great Wall of China.
Alternatively venture farther to Xian on a land tour to explore the Terracotta Warriors Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with more than 7,000 life-size statues standing guard over the tomb of the first emperor of a unified China.
