Western Cape

This is traditionally the warmest month of the year in the year Cape. The temperatures around this time of year can reach the mid thirties during the day, especially if there is no wind to help cool things down. Night temperatures can drop to the mid teens.

Inland areas: Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo, Gauteng & the Lowveld

Summer is in full swing with hot sunny mornings. From lunch time onwards, the clouds may build and in the late afternoons you can get some impressive thunder and lightning storms accompanied with some heavy warm rainfall.

Temperatures tend to be in the high twenties to low thirties during the day and drop to the high teens at night time.

KwaZulu-Natal

Along the coast it can be sunny in the mornings, with humidity quite high with potential to develop into cloudier conditions later in the day with potential for warm rainfall. Humidity levels will peak in this month.

Inland temperatures will be a bit cooler as you head up into and higher into the mountains. Average temperatures during these summer months are around 32 degrees Celcius.
