Western Cape
Officially, it’s now heading towards winter in the Cape but there can still be some lovely warm sunny days. The winds start coming from the North West which traditionally brings the cold fronts which come up from the southern ocean, these bring the rains and the winds can be quite strong.
The temperatures around this time of year can be as high as the low twenties but tend to send around the high teens. Night time temperatures can drop to the low teens.
Inland areas: Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo, Gauteng & the Lowveld
This time of year brings about much drier conditions, with clear cold nights and potential for ground frosts. Day time temperatures remain a lovely mid twenties, with night time dropping into the lower teens.
KwaZulu-Natal
This time of year is usually when it’s at it’s best with protracted periods of sunshine along the coast and lovely clear days in the inland and mountains.
Humidity levels will reduce at this time of year making it feel more comfortable during the night times. Inland temperatures will be a bit cooler as you head up into and higher into the mountains.
