South Africa November

Western Cape

Summer is almost here and everything is gearing up for the summer months ahead. The weather continues to warm up and the days become longer, but the winds can be quite strong and bring in inclement weather from time to time.

The weather can however remain very changeable and one can experience all four seasons in a day.

The winds continue to come in from the SE which means sunny weather ahead, though it can feel cool if the winds are strong.

The temperatures around this time of year should be warming up to the low twenties, however still remaining cooler in the evenings.

Inland areas: Northern Cape, North West, Limpopo, Gauteng & the Lowveld

This time of year is lovely to visit as it remains lovely and dry and warm during the day time with cooler evenings. Day time temperatures remain lovely and start reaching the high twenties. The summer clouds start to build now which typically bring the warm summer rainfall in the form of afternoon thunder showers.

Safari in the Lowveld at this time of year is fabulous as all the antelope species like to calve at this time of year making for dramatic game viewing.   The bush starts to thicken up as the new growth comes through and the migrant birds from the Northern hemisphere start to arrive.

Temperatures can start peaking in the mid to high thirties at this time of year.

KwaZulu-Natal

This time of year is when the humidity levels start to rise once more, bring with it higher temperatures and sporadic rainfall. It’s a lovely and warm time in KwaZulu-Natal.

Inland temperatures will be warming up again as you head up into midlands and the mountains. The early summer conditions make for some amazing weather when visiting the Ango-Zulu Battlefields , the safari parks and the Drakensberg Mountains which make them scenically very beautiful and fabulous for walking.

Average temperatures for Durban around this time of year increase to the early thirties degrees celcius.
