Nihi Sumba
Nihi Sumba is a luxury, boutique hideaway on Sumba Island, east of Bali, just 50 minutes from Bali by direct flight.
Nihi Sumba has been described as 'where rugged luxury meets unregulated freedom' and we feel that is a very apt description.
The resort consists of a number of unique and luxurious villas and estates, each of which offers ocean views, space and comfort.
Villas can be rented either as individual one bedroom villas or as whole estates (up to 5 bedrooms). Each one is uniquely designed.
At Nihi Sumba, it’s possible just to disconnect from things entirely and relax, or alternatively fill your days with some of the numerous activities on offer, including; yoga, surfing, kitesurfing, horse riding, fishing, spa, mountain biking and cultural activities.

Together the pair have transformed Nihi Sumba (formerly known as Nihiwatu) from a hip surfers escape into something more luxurious and complete.

Bear in mind
There are 3 flights daily from Bali to Sumba, which is the easiest way to reach Nihu.
Garuda flies daily around midday and is our preferred option. The flying time is just 50 minutes.

Mandaka
Nestled under the trees in a cottage like setting, Mandaka’s one-bedroom villa combines the luxury of the expansive estate with its own secluded corner of the property overlooking Nihi’s coveted surf wave. A private path leads directly down to the Boat House for water activities, socializing, and sunset cocktails.
Ideal for those traveling alone and can also be rented out as a guest bedroom for friends and family of those staying in the Master One bedroom villa.
Mandaka is part of a 5 bedroom estate which can be rented in part or as a whole.
Mamole Tree House

Kanatar
Kanatar's One Bedroom Villa offers unparalleled views, privacy and plenty of space.
Perched high above the rest of the villas, the Indian Ocean stretches out in front of you as you sip your morning coffee from your spacious second floor balcony.
Lulu
The Lulu one-bedroom villa is made up of a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and outdoor tub, connecting to a living room or children’s bedroom with en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower.
Dining at Nihi Sumba
Dining punctuates the day. It brings on the morning and closes out the night. It gives meaning to each hour.
As such Nihi has taken great care designing the dining experience for guests.
Menus are crafted to recall local flavours and far flung tastes, using fresh produce from the on-site organic garden.
Local fish is caught and brought up daily from nearby shores to be prepared in a new way every night.
Toast is always cooked over an open fire, never in a toaster.
Ombak
The hub of social activity is the main sandy-floored Ombak (meaning wave front) restaurant and bar lounge.
Ombak, an exquisitely crafted open-air restaurant, serves a la carte breakfast and dinner daily with a relaxed convivial atmosphere.
During the week special dining experiences including spectacular BBQs are organised.
The large outside deck, cantilevered over the ocean, offers relaxed lounge seating and a spectacular private dining experience.
The Nest, perched on the crest of the ocean is perfect for a romantic dinner or an intimate family meal.
