Sri Lanka is a year-round destination as the country is affected by two different monsoon systems, meaning that when the West and South are wet, the East and north are generally dry.
Broadly speaking however, Sri Lanka’s high season is between December and April, when the Southern and Western coasts are in the dry season, the Hill Country beautiful and the National Parks mostly at their best.
The best month to visit Sri Lanka overall is probably March when most of the country is under dry conditions.
Visiting Sri Lanka during the ‘rainy’ season however can also reveal the beauty of the island in all its lushness.
